We met Solomon O Lopez last year in spring at BYNCongress in Ariel and we had the priviledge to hear both singers together, James Block and Solomon O Lopez on a shabbat.
Years ago I had found Solomon in a video singing in a Sukka in Jerusalem.I think at the same time Ephraim and Rimona were sharing in that Sukka.
As curious as I am to search Yosef in the four corners of the earth I wrote him with the reason to make to made contact as family.
Recently we have more contact and that made me think to present what I experience when I hear what he speak or sing.
Soon you will read more about Solomon, but first I will share an album with you. The songs are from all times, but especially for a time as this!
We need musicians who speak Fathers heart, like pioneers who go forewards to prepare the way with courrage, not afraid to offer things, so that awaken people can go step on that way to th old paths where they find rest for their souls ( Jer.6:16)
I start with an album Born at home. I strongly recommend this album to experience the precious songs and music who both gives us steps to grow into our special identity of Yosef!
This is the description:
This is the first album release for Solomon O. Lopez, under the artist name, The Hebraism Music Project. This album titled “Born at Home Sessions Vol. 1” is a collection of songs inspired by the home births of Solomon’s three sons, Eliyahu, Benyamin, and Yosef. It is a preview to the Born at Home Anthology (which will feature the music from 2004-2014). Since the album’s release in late 2009, Solomon’s daughter, Abigail Hana, was born in the summer of 2012 and inspired another collection of songs. The album’s lyrical content is also heavily inspired by the Hebrew Scriptures (Tanak=Torah, Prophets, and Writings), and the rediscovered Hebraic elements inside the [frequently misunderstood], New Testament. The song opens with an amazing instrumental track, “Overture” (which features violinist, Eben Mann). The next song, “Return,” [inspired by Psalm 122] gives the listener an insight into the place where God’s name (YHVH) was placed, and where all mankind was reborn–Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). This album lays the foundation that mankind is [continually] reborn because of the life, death, and resurrection of God’s Son, Yeshua (Hebrew/Aramaic for Jesus). Ultimately, this entire album was written as a soundtrack for a film that does not exist yet, but certainly exists when any human being has embraced their rebirth through the Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth. Many of the early album reviews described the music as a journey, as well as, a fluid spiritual experience when listening to the album in its entirety. Solomon O. Lopez :12/28/20: Over the last 7 years, this day has been one of heartache, and tragedy for me personally (divorce, relationship fallouts, & economic hardship). I have unknowingly allowed this day to be one of mourning, sadness, and reflection on the past. Today, I refused to go there. Today, I decided to record a song of victory titled, A Life of Peace! It is a song that shares part of my testimony, and goes places my old religious mindset wouldn’t dare travel to…vulnerability. Today, I have truly found beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
Last year, I shared a demo of an EP called, Out of that Place, on 12/28/19. It was a collection of songs that represented the spiritual warfare side of my walk in Torah. However, as I went to promote it, and upload it to all the online stores, I felt compelled to sit and wait. Then, the pandemic hit, things were in a tailspin for me with balancing work, family, and ministry amidst all the uncertainty. Since the Hebrew New Year in March 2020, I have had an incredible opportunity to share the kingdom with hundreds of people online–I did not see that in the plans after a music album. What these online teaching sessions have done is give me the freedom to be who I am in Messiah, and not feel boxed in as a musician, songwriter, teacher, speaker, etc. It has given me the freedom to do something bold, and radical–start over musically. A Life of Peace represents the first fruits of me starting over, and not being afraid to share the music that comes out of me. I have allowed the words of critics over the last 10 years get to me about how much the music I do doesn’t sound like worship or other religious music. Today, Yah has led me “Out of that Place” of desolation, and to be free from those dark words spoken over me. The music that comes out of me may not sound like “worship,” but to me it is, and Abba in Heaven leads me this way when I am alone, vulnerable…connecting with Him. This live acoustic version of A Life of Peace, represents how it all started for me 20 years ago; vulnerable, yet determined to connect with my Heavenly Father.
As far as the Out of that Place EP, I am currently having a blast remixing each song with a newfound joy–no limits, no expectations to sounds a certain way. I don’t have a timeline when I will release it, but I do have a hope that as Yah leads, I will share them in various forms with you! ~Solomon O. Lopez
